Early Influences
Since an early age, Cameron has been interested in learning about the world, including the true scientific nature of the Universe. This keen interest fueled his fascination as a teenager in science fiction. His interest in science led him to pursue an electrical engineering career. At university, he discovered Schodinger’s equations and Maxwell’s Equations.
First Novel
Inspired by these interests, Barrie Cameron decided in 2020 to write a Science Fiction novel.
He set his Planetoid Trilogy in the near future. Its genre is a hybrid of hard and soft science fiction, In addition, there is a significant ‘first contact’ theme running through its plot. But essentially the Planetoid Trilogy is an adventure mystery that contains themes of existential threats to humanity and the Earth’s biosphere, and speculative geo-politics on Earth and in the Solar System.
Planetoid Trilogy
The three books in the Planetoid Trilogy are: Star Island, Three Fates, and Phoenix.
‘Star Island’ (April 2022) and ‘Three Fates’ (April 2023) have been published on Amazon, and ‘Phoenix’ is expected to be published there in November 2023.
He plans to continue his writing following the publication of the present books.
